Description

In the event that registration for this Q&A session fills up quickly, staff and volunteers working on communicable diseases (including COVID-19) in Colorado will be prioritized. Thank you for understanding!

Purpose

To provide Colorado public health professionals who conduct communicable disease case investigations the opportunity to ask a panel of subject matter experts (SMEs) questions they have regarding communicable disease interviewing.

If you participated in any of the Skills Labs offered in 2023 or 2024, this Q&A session provides an excellent opportunity to ask follow-up questions that might not have been addressed due to time constraints. Prior attendance at a Skills Lab is not required to register for this session.

What to Expect

When registering, participants will be asked to complete a few questions on what area(s) of an interview they struggle with the most. Some examples of these may include:

  • Confirming identity (asking for name or birthdate)
  • Questions regarding sexual activities or partners, gender identity or orientation, workplace, school, or childcare
  • Keeping the person on the phone for the duration of the interview
  • Keeping the conversation on track/avoiding tangents or side conversations
  • Following the script/interview tool provided

This Q&A session is intended to be a safe space for participants to ask questions and get feedback.

We strive to host inclusive and accessible events that enable all individuals, including those with disabilities to engage fully. Please let us know of any accommodations that will assist your full participation.
