Who This Workshop Is Ideal For

This workshop is designed for all researchers, health professionals, community stakeholders and others looking to increase the use of evidence-based practices in clinical healthcare settings.

Works in Progress Rationale

Dissemination and Implementation research (D&I) has made notable progress in expanding the use of evidence-based practices in clinical healthcare settings. This brown bag lunch series will discuss opportunities to expand and apply these strategies to community-based settings, drawing from research and practice-based experience.

Agenda

  1. Review ideas for a Coordinating Center proposal, based partly on the work of the existing Systems for Action Research Network based here at CU-Anschutz (30 minutes)
  2. Discussion of works in progress from others considering applying to this funding opportunity. (30 minutes)

Description

In this session we will discuss ideas for research proposals to be submitted in response to a new NIH funding opportunity that will support a collaborative research network dedicated to testing multi-sectoral preventive interventions for health conditions in populations that experience health disparities. Glen Mays will discuss ideas for a Coordinating Center proposal, based partly on the work of the existing Systems for Action Research Network based here at CU-Anschutz. We invite other participants who are considering applying to this funding opportunity to join and discuss their ideas, interests, and questions. We encourage participants to review the Coordinating Center FOA and the Research Network FOA in advance of this session.
