In the following webinar, StoryCenter will share its work from the Staying Positive Project, through which it is working with individuals living with HIV and AIDS, to support them in finding, telling, and creating their own digital stories. The emphasis is on personal healing, as well as on galvanizing communities to challenge stigma and educate the public about this often-overlooked dimension of the larger AIDS narrative.
This webinar will share some of the digital stories produced by those living with HIV and will discuss how public health professionals, clinicians, patient navigators, community health workers, and community educators can use the stories in ethical and productive ways that foster productive dialogue about the issues they raise. Stories offer a powerful tool to reduce stigma in the general public, encourage those who may not know they are living with HIV to get tested, and support those living with HIV to access treatment and support.
This webinar was recorded on April 19, 2017.
