In this webinar we will explore the benefits of engaging young people, introducing ideas of sharing power, and what that looks like. We will also discuss adultism and how to avoid the common errors that lead to ineffective engagement. You will leave this learning event better able to be an advocate for and alongside youth.
Daiszha Cooley is a Youth Specialist for UpRISE, Colorado’s Social Justice Youth Tobacco Control Movement and Boulder County Public Health’s Community Substance Abuse Prevention Program. Daiszha earned her bachelor’s degrees in neuroscience and psychology in May 2018. She has worked alongside youth as a peer mentor in various programs and continues to connect with youth across the state through SYN-United (Statewide Youth Network United).
Daiszha is actively involved in youth engagement work through supervising a team of youth advisors, facilitating a youth coalition and a youth action board, and providing technical assistance around best practices for youth engagement.
