In this self-paced, online module we focus on a very brief overview of the basic skills of motivational interviewing. Motivational interviewing (MI) is a communication technique used to help people facing ambivalence and support those ready to make a change in health behavior.
This module was created in partnership with the Patient Navigator Training Collaborative and can be accessed free-of-charge through their registration system: https://patientnavigatortraining.org/elearning/courses/motivational-interviewing-a-brief-overview/
Audience: This course is a brief overview for those who would like to see if the MI technique is right for them. This course is not a replacement for a more in-depth in person or online course with guided practice.
Certificate of completion is available for this module.
