Description

Are you a trusted adult for some young person or young people and want to know more about having effective conversations with them to prevent them from using marijuana? That is precisely what will be discussed in this online module. You will be given a little background on why prevention is so important and the perceptions of young people with regard to marijuana. The approach and message crafting for conversations will also be addressed, as well as tailored information and messaging for 3 specific age groups: 9-13 year olds, 14-17 year olds, and 18-20 year olds.

Learning Objectives
  1. Recognize the importance of tailoring communication about marijuana to be age-appropriate
  2. Describe youth perceptions of marijuana use.
  3. Summarize key messages for communicating with different age ranges of young people.
