Facilitation Foundations is a five-session course that uses highly interactive, skill-building activities to build participant capacity to facilitate meetings and coalitions that are efficient, effective, and lead to results.
As meeting and coalition facilitators, we share responsibility for the development of the groups with which we work and progress toward outcomes. Understanding your own facilitation style leads to more effective and efficient meetings and work time, and helps groups move toward their goals. Anticipating, preventing, and intervening during difficult facilitation situations keeps groups from derailing and halting progress. Using structured strategies to generate ideas, evaluate and select ideas, and make decisions can help a group meet their goals and take ownership of the process.
This is an introductory-level course for those whose positions call for facilitation skills, but who have not received in-depth training before.
